# Launching Screena Portal backend

Open a terminal or command prompt and navigate to the `<Screena portal home>` directory. Run the following command:

nohup java -Xms2048m -Xmx4096m -Dproperties.path=<Screena portal home> -Dfile.encoding=UTF-8 -Djasypt.encryptor.password=screena -jar screena-portal-1.0-spring-boot.jar & < /dev/null
```

* At first launch, all the database collections with their associated indexes will be created, including the default admin user.
* The apigw\.pid file will contain the process number.
